The number of prisoners rose 1.6 percent, which was lower than the 2.0 percent growth during the same period in 2006. The study compared domestic and non-domestic sexual assault and domestic and non-domestic aggravated assault cases filed in state courts of 15 large urban counties during May 2002 on 11 prosecution, conviction and sentencing outcome measures.
