Summary: Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc., is an experienced provider in the delivery of quality comprehensive intensive case management and wrap-around services to foreign born and domestic minor victims of all forms of human trafficking. The Catholic Charities Human Trafficking Project (CCHTP) provided intensive case management to 62 successfully certified survivors of all forms of trafficking. Currently, there are 19 active cases receiving services, including the important legal wrap-around piece. Over the past two years, the team has also provided consultation and case coordination to domestic minors who have been sheltered with collaborative partners. The CCHTP is recognized throughout Southwest Florida for its responsiveness, collaboration, productivity and compassion. The Diocese of Venice has demonstrated a true commitment to supporting the continuation of comprehensive services necessary for victims to become survivors; despite the recent funding cuts and challenges.

The following is a summary of goals, objectives and deliverables:

  1. CCHPT will identify victims of all forms of trafficking, in the six (6) county region that comprises Southwest Florida. The CCHTP comprehensive case management services will be provided to all eligible victims, as defined by the TVPA. The CCHTP has demonstrated a proficiency in the delivery of Intensive Case Management (ICM). The CCHTP also has demonstrated a proficiency in the understanding of TVPA and compliance under this law. Quality 1CM will continue for foreign born victims. The project will expand ICM to domestic victims.
  2. CCHTP will continue its existing collaboration with the regional Task Force under the leadership of the Assistant U.S. Attorney's office. Catholic Charities will also continue a leadership role on the SW Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking, comprised of law enforcement, government agencies, victim service providers, social service agencies and faith-based organizations. There is already movement to start satellite Coalitions in the adjacent counties.
  3. CCHTP will continue to coordinate training and expand training by contracting with other experienced trainers.
  4. CCHTP will conduct an internal and an external formal program evaluation to ensure the project meets intended goals related to service provision and the impact on victims of human trafficking. Both internal and external evaluations will result in formal written reports.
