Raising Awareness on Teen Dating Violence (February 2010)

This year the week of February 1-6 is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Week. OVC offers links to related organizations to assist dating violence victims, service providers, and allied professionals. You can learn more about teen dating violence from the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) Teen Victim Project Web training series. They offer past sessions online, including a Webinar on Teens and Stalking.

The National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) is helping to promote awareness of teen dating violence on the Teen Dating Violence special feature section of their Web site.  This feature maintains a list of publications and provides resources on teen dating violence.

The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), in collaboration with the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault, proudly presents the Conference on Reducing Violence Against Women on College Campuses: A Coordinated Community Response Approach which will be held on June 16-17, 2010. The conference is open to college campuses and their community partners who are interested in starting or strengthening their coordinated community response team.

The National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) presents a special Webinar on DNA evidence Monday, February 8, at 1:00 p.m. ET. This OVC-sponsored training event will enhance service providers’ capacity to provide victims with informed, sensitive guidance on forensic DNA.
