Please respond to the following questions additional 8x11 sheets may be attached if necessary 1. DESCRIBE THE IMPACT THAT VOCA FUNDS HAVE HAD ON YOUR PROGRAM'S ABILITY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF CRIME VICTIMS. Section III Other - Prescriptions-$487.13 & Out-of-pocket expenses-$6,775.51 ====== The Nebraska compensation program is funded through general appropriations and funds from the federal prison industries program. Unfortunately, these funds are not sufficient to address all the victims who file for compensation. While the Federal funds cannot cover all remaining claims for compensation, they do allow Nebraska to assist additional victims who would not otherwise receive assistance. To the victims of crime who have suffered the trauma of being victimized, the additional financial burden placed on them is overwhelming. State and Federal funds can help in reducing some or all of that final burden.2. HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR PROGRAM'S EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS IN REDUCING THE FINANCIAL IMPACTH OF CRIME ON VICTIMS? WHAT ARE THE RESULTS? By Nebraska statute the program shall consider and rule on any application received within one hundred eighty days after receipt of all required information related to the crime. It usually takes between four to six months to process a claim. The processing time is estimated.
3. DID YOUR STATE USE VOCA ADMINSTRATIVE FUNDS? YES IF YOUR STATE USED VOCA ADMINSTRATIVE FUNDS, PLEASE DESCRIBE THE IMPACT THESE FUNDS HAVE HAD ON YOUR STATE'S ABILITY TO PROVIDE COMPENSATION OR IMPROVE VICTIM SERVICES. The administrative funds are used for printing costs, postage, memberships, and a small portion was used to provide compensation to victims.
