The Delaware Violent Crimes Compensation Board is grateful for the VOCA funds which allow the Board to serve more victims of violent crime. The Board uses both state and federal funds to provide victims of crime with payment for medical, lots wages, mental health counseling, services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault exams and other related services. The VOCA funds allows the Board to better serve victims and their families. |

2. HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR PROGRAM'S EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS IN REDUCING THE FINANCIAL IMPACT OF CRIME ON VICTIMS? WHAT ARE THE RESULTS? |

The Board currently does not have an automated claims tracking system which measures average processing time. The Board is working on development of au automated claims tracking system which would include reports like average processing time. The Boards legislation requires that the Board initiate an investigation of a claim within 30 days of the filing of the claim and the Board is in compliance with this requirement. The Board does make claim payments within 30 days of the Boards decision. The Board wil lcontinue to work towards automating the victim case processing system and it looking at other state models. |

The Delaware Violent Crimes Compensation Board uses administrative funds to purchase computers and scanning equipment. The Boards office is in new of new technology and automated procedures to process victims claims. VOCA administrative funds have allowed us to purchase a new digital tape recorder to record the Boards hearings. We are appreciative of the help that these federal funds have provide to assis the Board meets its mission to provide services to crime victims. |
