Funds are available in the fall and are publicized by mailings to government agencies, which may include nongovernment agencies in their proposals. The Governor’s Committee on Crime evaluates the proposals and determines the awards. The funding cycle/project period is 1 year, with extensions. Technical assistance is available through a workshop provided on request.

Family Violence Prevention and Services Act

The goal of this grant is to fund programs that prevent family violence and provide immediate shelter and assistance for victims of family violence.

Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant

The goal of this grant is to reduce rape and sexual assault by funding violence prevention and public education projects.

VOCA Victim Assistance

The goal of this grant is to fund local and statewide services that directly benefit victims of crime.

The goal of this grant is to develop, establish, and operate programs designed to improve the handling of child abuse cases and the investigation and prosecution of child sexual abuse cases.
