Funds are available in March and publicized by local and state government agencies. The funding process consists of each county receiving an allocation based on population and crime statistics. Individual counties identify local priorities for funds. The funding cycle/project period is based on the federal fiscal year. Technical assistance is available on request.

Family Violence Prevention and Services Act

The goal of this grant is to fund programs that prevent family violence and provide immediate shelter and assistance for victims of family violence.

STOP Violence Against Women Act

The goal of this grant is to strengthen law enforcement and prosecution strategies to combat violent crimes against women and to provide services for women victims of violent crime.

The goal of this grant is to support direct assistance to victims of crime as soon as possible after the crime to reduce the severity of trauma.
