by Aileen Wiglesworth and Cherie HillJuly 2009

This NIJ video, Research in Action: An Elder Abuse Study Impacts How Law Enforcement Work Their Cases,” is an interview with Aileen Wiglesworth, Ph.D. and Cherie Hill, from the 2009 NIJ Conference. In this interview, Detective Hill explains her history of investigating elder abuse and how a new study on bruises can help law enforcement not only indentify victims, but also suspects. Dr. Wiglesworth discusses the merits of the new bruising study to law enforcement, such as debunking the myth that the color of the bruise can determine the age of the bruise.
