Results from an Elder Abuse Prevention Experiment in New York City

September 2001
A significant amount of research has been conducted on ways to reduce abuse against women and children, but very little research has been done on the domestic abuse of elderly persons. This Research in Brief addresses the increasing need for elder abuse prevention and highlights a field experiment involving interventions designed to reduce repeat incidents of elder abuse including difficulties and successes.
