November 1999
Every year criminal justice researchers are presented with new opportunities and challenges. Building Knowledge About Crime and Justice: The 2000 Research Prospectus of the National Institute of Justice discusses the development of five strategic challenges to reduce crime, enhance public safety, and improve the administration of justice through research in the coming year, such as creating new tools and technology to aid practitioners. Also included is a brief account of NIJ's fiscal resources and a description of its solicitation and information dissemination processes.
