Test Protocol for Comparative Evaluation of Protective Gloves for Law Enforcement and Corrections Applications

June 1999
NIJ Test Protocol 99-114 establishes performance measures and requirements for the manufacture of protective gloves and their use by law enforcement and corrections personnel. Gloves must first meet specific rating levels and then pass a series of tests, all of which are described in Test Protocol for Comparative Evaluation of Protective Gloves for Law Enforcement and Corrections Applications, NIJ Test Protocol 99–114. The protocol also discusses manufacturer quality assurance provisions, workmanship, labeling, and certification requirements for protective gloves.
