National Evaluation of Weed and Seed: Pittsburgh Case Study

June 1999
Since 1991, Operation Weed and Seed has been a collaborative effort of community policing professionals and neighborhood activists to address violent and drug-related crime. This NIJ Research Report, The National Evaluation of Weed and Seed: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Case Study, summarizes the program's strategies and effects in these Florida counties. The report focuses on crime data from the target areas, implementation strategies, organizational structure and challenges, program financing, and community reaction. The data also compare levels of community perception of neighborhood safety and satisfaction from 1995 to 1997.
