Case Studies Introduction
To complement the national evaluation of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, a separate effort developed case studies of 10 police departments that received COPS funding. The case studies describe how those departments attempted to change their overall policing strategy as they applied for, received, and implemented COPS grants. This supplemental effort was conducted through the John F. Kennedy School of Government's Program in Criminal Justice Policy and Management.
The studies show varying degrees of success in making the transition to community policing. Click on a site's name below to read its case study summary.
