NIJ Applied Technologies Conference

The 2009 Conference has passed but you may sign up to receive an  e-mail updates envelope icon whenever NIJ announces any new event.

This conference showcases novel tools and technologies with current and future law enforcement and crime laboratory applications that improve how we keep our communities safe. In addition, it features forums for discussing the procedures, policies, and issues that arise when new technology is introduced in a community. Through panel discussions and exhibits, executives will have a chance to sample a wide variety of technologies and their associated issues, like community acceptance, return on investment, planning for deployment, and privacy. NIJ sponsors the Applied Technologies Conference in partnership with The Center for Rural Development and the National Forensic Science Technology Center.

In 2009, our exhibit hall will offer hands-on demonstrations of some of the latest technologies, such as:

  • Cyber crime investigation tools.
  • School safety tools and resources.
  • Low cost aviation assets.
  • Communications and information sharing tools
  • National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
  • Field Investigation Drug Officer (FIDO)
