I am very pleased to assume the position as Director of the Community Capacity Development Office. We at CCDO will continue to work with our partners to keep our communities safe, enhance existing programs, and build successful community coalitions.

Before coming to CCDO I had been the Deputy Director of The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) since 2003. I have worked in the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), the Bureau of State and Local Affairs for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, and prior to that, I held public office for fourteen years.

I also served as the County Executive of the most populous county in Delaware, and one of the things that I was most proud of during my tenure was the creation of the New Castle County Community Partnership. This was an inclusive and effective abuse prevention effort, which partners government, law enforcement, business, and non-profit entities with grass-roots community members.

Since I have worked in federal, state, and local governments I understand the importance of collaboration. I look forward to working with you to make our communities safer.
