Intimate partner victimization rate per 1,000 females by crime type, 1993-2005

For all crimes of violence, the rate of nonfatal intimate partner violence for females began at 9.8 in 1993 and fell to a low of 3.6 in 2005.

For rape/sexual assault, the rate of nonfatal intimate partner violence for females began at 1.1 in 1993 and decreased to a low of 0.2 in 2004. After 2004, the rate increased to 0.6 in 2005.

For robbery, the rate of nonfatal intimate partner violence for females began at 0.5 in 1993 and increased to 0.6 in 1994, where it remained constant until 1995. After 1995, the rate decreased to 0.5 in 1996, before climbing, to 0.7 in 1997, where it remained constant until 1998. Then it fell, reaching 0.2 in 2005.

For aggravated assault, the rate of nonfatal intimate partner violence for females began at 1.5 in 1993 and increased to 1.6 in 1994. Then the rate fell to a low of 0.4 in 2000, before increasing to 0.8 in 2002. After 2002, it decreased to 0.5 in 2005.

For simple assault, the rate of nonfatal intimate partner violence for females began at 6.7 in 1993 and fell to a low of 2.4 in 2005.
