Source:The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) a survey of households ongoing since 1973, interviews about 80,000 persons age 12 and older in 43,000 households each year about their victimizations from crime. The survey reports on rape, sexual assault, robbery, both simple and aggravated assault, theft, household burglary, and motor vehicle theft and includes those crimes not reported to the police.
