A query will search all downloadable documents as well as the BJS web pages that include document abstracts and titles. Searches can be restricted to particular types of documents. You can also expand your search to related sites.

To search the entire BJS site, enter a word, phrase, or groups of words (separated with commas) in the box below and submit the search. Additional help on how to write queries is also available.

Restrict the search
The BJS Web site provides documents and information in a number of different formats. You can search only web pages, only Acrobat documents, only text documents, only press releases, or any combination of formats. To restrict your search, deselect any of the following types of documents to exclude from your search before you submit your search.

BJS Web site: Web pages viewable on the web including full abstracts
of all BJS publications as well as online information.
BJS documents in portable document format (.pdf): Complete versions of documents including graphics and tables
that can be viewed and printed on any platform with a free viewer.
BJS text documents: Text only versions of documents without graphics and some tables
BJS press releases: text files.

Search related sites

Select the check boxes below to submit your search request to the Web sites of the Office of Justice Programs and the National Criminal Justice Reference Service. These sites have grant information, forms and reports from Office of Justice Program agencies including the National Institute of Justice, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and the Office for Victims of Crime.

Office of Justice Programs: Searches all Office of Justice Programs sites including the BJS site and its holdings.
National Criminal Justice Reference Service: Searches include many publications from the OJP agencies including some from BJS are available from this site.
