National Crime Victimization Questionnaire ReviewEvery three years, every data collection of the Federal government must be reapproved by the Office of Management and Budget. The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) is currently undergoing this reapproval process under which BJS allows for public comment and review of the data collection instruments during a two month period. At this time, BJS is soliciting comments on the existing survey instruments for the National Crime Victimization Survey and on additional questions to be added to the survey concerning the victimization of persons with disabilities. These new questions will be added to the end of the crime incident report questionnaire. The questionnaires

A recent example of how these data are used is Criminal Victimization 1998: Changes 1997-98 with Trends 1993-98. Comments should be submitted by June 15, 2000 and may be submitted by email to askbjs@ojp.usdoj.gov. Please include NCVS Questionnaire in the subject line.
