SCAAP: Inmate Information
The table and chart below show the required inmate identifier data elements and the
required ASCII fixed-field format. A few elements are not mandatory but should be
included if available. When entering your inmate information for uploading to the
system, follow the instructions below very carefully. DO NOT USE THE TAB KEY
when filling in your data. If any part of your inmate information does not require
the use of all the available spaces in a given field, USE THE SPACE BAR
to advance to the beginning of the next field. EXAMPLE:
The chart below is of two inmate records that are in the correct format. The last
name of an inmate can be up to 40 characters long, but most inmates, last names will
not be 40 characters. In the chart below, the first inmate listed has the last name
of "Smith." We began entering the last name at column 10 in the text
file. Because "Smith" is only 5 characters long, it is necessary to hit the
space bar 35 times, to get to column 50, before entering the inmate's first name.
