LLEBG - Project Information and Allocations

When completing the Request for Drawdown (RFD), grantees should include projects discussed at the Public Hearing. Grantees may have more than one project in any of the first six Purpose Areas. BJA strongly encourages grantees to provide sufficient detail to adequately explain the purposes and costs of projects. This will reduce the time required to process the RFD.

Grantees should avoid combining projects that are in support of basic law enforcement functions with crime prevention/education projects that have community involvement. The LLEBG system allows grantees to assign fund allocations to the same budget categories under each individual project. For example, overtime for law enforcement personnel to conduct targeted enforcement in problem areas should be listed under Purpose Area 1, but overtime for law enforcement personnel to attend neighborhood crime watch meetings and support National Night Out programs should be listed under Purpose Area 6.

When completing the RFD, please include brief descriptions of the projects, initiatives or types of equipment to be purchased in the Project Information section. (Examples: type of equipment Communications - cell phones for undercover investigators; portable radios for patrol officers; Vehicles - marked patrol vehicles or motorized scooters for school resource officers; Information Technology - PCs for support services division or mobile data terminals).

Grantees can change the Information provided in the RFD at any time during the grant period, until the Final Grant Report has been initiated. Grantees should update project and allocation information submitted in the RFD, whenever a project initiative is revised; a new project targeted for funding with LLEBG funds; or when costs vary from the initial RFD submission.
