Match Requirement:
The following provides clarification of the Match Requirement example in the FY 2008 solicitation.
Example 1: For a grant application totaling $388,889, match would be calculated as follows:
$388,889 = total cost of project
$388,889 x 90 percent = $350,000 (federal amount)
$388,889 x 10 percent = $38,889 (applicant match requirement in cash or in-kind services)
Total cost: $350,000 (federal amount) + $38,889 (applicant) = $388,889
Example 2: For a proposed project totaling $166,667, match would be calculated as follows:
$166,667 = total cost of project
$166,667 x 90 percent = $150,000 (federal amount)
$166,667 x 10 percent = $16,667 (applicant match requirement in cash or in-kind services)
Total cost: $150,000 (federal amount) + $16,667 (applicant) = $166,667

Overview:
