PURPOSE: The Napa County Health and Human Services Agency will use grant funds to
implement a post-adjudication juvenile drug court program. The goals of this drug court are to
expand the county's current juvenile drug court pilot effort and to help these minors break their
patterns of addiction and negative behavior. This rural drug court will serve approximately 100
clients and 100 family members over a 3-year grant period. The program will include a
minimum of 12 months of treatment followed by an aftercare component. Upon completion of
the program, clients may have their record expunged. The program consists of intensive judicial
supervision, sanctions and incentives, and frequent, mandatory drug testing. The drug court will
collaborate with the Humane Society pet therapy, Parks and Recreation, and Job Build.
