AWARD AMOUNT:

$498,890*

PURPOSE: The Oregon Office of the State Court Administrator will use grant funds to implement an adult drug court in Benton County, which targets nonviolent, substance-abusing adult offenders. The primary goals of the program are to enhance public safety and reduce crime. The program will serve 200 clients over a 3-year period. Clients are expected to participate in the program for a minimum of 12 months. The drug court will provide intensive judicial supervision, treatment, mandatory drug testing, graduated sanctions, aftercare, and other rehabilitative services. Additionally, a management information system will be utilized to monitor client progress and to conduct process and outcome evaluations. The program will provide collateral services such as mentoring, transportation, mental and primary health care, and educational services. The Benton County Drug Treatment Court will coordinate its efforts with the following agencies: the Sunflower House, Benton County Corrections Day Reporting Center, ACES, Inter-Community Health Network, and Corvallis School District.
