Putting the Evaluation Findings To Work
- Address attrition in sex offender programs to increase the number of offenders completing treatment.
- Monitor treatment progress and identify which offender and offense characteristics predict treatment failure.
- Develop measures to effectively track high-risk sex offenders who are more likely to drop out or be expelled from treatment.
- Use valid and reliable sex offender screening and assessment instruments to determine which offenders are at high risk and more likely to drop out of treatment.
- Design programs that target specific types of sex offenders.
- Encourage adequate and complete collection of data for sex offender registries.
- Promote collaborative efforts to develop, enhance, and implement evidence-based management, treatment, and supervision programs for sex offenders.
