Putting the Evaluation Findings to Work

  • Demonstrate the secure nature of the data sharing technology that will be used.
  • Include stakeholders in the development of the information sharing/integration initiative through participation in meetings and tests of system usability.
  • Before the evaluation begins, ensure that data from the participating agencies will be in a format that can be easily shared by everyone.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy and timeliness by clearly defining project goals, objectives, and activities to determine what information should be collected, and work to ensure that all stakeholders agree on a system for periodic data checks.
  • Confirm that the selected performance measures reflect the short and long term goals and objectives of the initiative.
  • Plan for follow-up testing to determine long-term use of the technology as well as the weaknesses and strengths of the technology.
  • Test for usability prior to an outcome evaluation or full-scale implementation of the initiative.
