Examples of One-Shot Case Studies

This report contains multiple one-shot evaluations of chemical dependency programs in South Dakota. Clients' and counselors' evaluations were provided, as well as follow-up of clients using multiple indicators such as drug testing and self-reported arrest, drinking, and probation violations.

Children and Family Services Department, An Outcome Evaluation of Project Rebound, 1995. (Minnesota)
This evaluation involved follow-up of project clients at three and six months to assess the project's effectiveness on several outcome measures. Measures included instances of probation violations and convictions for new offenses, drug use and completion of drug programs, as well as assessments on child treatment and maintenance of children in the home.

Mississippi Crime and Justice Research Unit, Mississippi State University, An Impact Analysis of Mississippi's Multijurisdictional Drug Task Forces on Drug Related Crime and Violence: Year Five, 1996. (Mississippi)
This evaluation used three techniques to assess task force performance and impact - a community survey on public attitudes, a survey of task force members concerning their perceptions of effectiveness, and a compilation of monthly activity reports on task force productivity.

Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance, Wisconsin Drug Law Enforcement Task Forces: 1989-1993, 1995. (Wisconsin)
This evaluation assesses Task Force performance through use of number of task force arrests (sales and possession) over time, number of large volume seizures, and percent of total UCR arrests made by task force.
